Abstract

Librarianship is a noble profession. Anybody who is well alive and mentally conscious, balanced and alert, seeks knowledge and wants to be well informed. The people trained in the professional task of rightly providing and making readily available the accurate information sources and to rightly inform every other professional group are the librarians/information scientists. As librarians in Anambra State, how have we fared in this professional task? Is the professional service interesting to us? What have we done to package and market librarianship and library services in Anambra State in the face of disgusting and frustrating situations? Is librarianship a profession to be looked down upon by either the State Government and/or educational institutions?
